USOUNDS has been published around the world, online and off, for several decades. We recently heard about an exciting new medium called “music blogging” and are rushing to embrace it. With that in mind, we converted our graphic designer, Kei, to full time music blogger. Here is his first effort, we hope you enjoy — ED

What a day. I spent 2 hours drawing up a sweet new citroen graphic for “Citroen of the Month,” only to have Chaz reject it as “too ghey”. Drunken ass. In any case, the day was not totally ruined because I downloaded an insanely good mix from Jena Paradies. It’s called Kuntsform de Natur, and features Sender Berlin, the MFA, Heiko Laux and more. Black Mountain Live at Last

It was late at night and I was on the prowl. My Trans Am scraped the city streets as plumes of purple smoke swept through the t-top. My custom in-dash hi-fi was pumping out Black Sabbath’s Volume IV record at volumes few could withstand, and my mane undulated in the wind like a peroxide windsock.

Bloc Party Album News and Tour Dates

Bloc Party will finally get their debut album out in the USA. The record, titled “Silent Alarm” is due to be released on March 22. Early reviews say it captures Bloc Party’s raw-yet-polished rock sound along with some studio flourishes that put it way ahead of the other new rock releases this year.

Ric Befara Returns! Aqualung Live in Seattle Review plus Audio

I needed a cooler climate. After bounding around and baking in the American Southwest for the last few years, I headed to that green, wet, gray, elusive corner known as the Pacific Northwest. The ’79 Corona proved to have enough life to get me there, but barely. I drove the last 85 miles through the mountain passes with one windshield wiper, squeeking loud enough to pierce the sitar in my headphones. At 6 AM on January 30th, 2005, I pushed the car into a Salvation Army parking lot in south Seattle and left it forever. I taped a “Free” notice to the windshield, then headed north on foot.
