NME reports today that The Jesus and Mary Chain want to hear from you! Post any question to the band about their spilt or the current reunion tour. We asked them if they think a person’s metabolic rate has a direct connection to how many d’s they take per day. More information can be found here.

Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festy has announced a few 2007 musical acts including: The Shins, Wu-Tang Clan, DeVotchKa, Devendra Banhart and Gogol Bordello.

You have until Thursday to enter Sub Pop’s best worst band name contest. Will it be Sh-Sh-Sh-Shark Attack!!!? Will MC Vagina receive honorable mention for having songs called, “Pap Smear Leviathan” and “Wombasaurus”? Results will be posted on Friday the 13th.

NME reports that a Pixies tribute album, Dig For Fire, will be released in November featuring contributions by Mogwai, J Mascis, British Sea Power and The Rosebuds.

NME reports that the Beach Boys will release a career retrospective called, The Warmth of the Sun that features remixes by the band members themselves due out May 22nd.  It’s just like having your g-rents at the helm of a new musical montage!

Death Cab will appear as the musical guest on Conan tonight.

Even more new Sasquatch Fest 07 news.  Just added:  Blackalicious, Visqueen and Incredibly Strange Wrestling(?).  Also, the Beastie Boys will be doing an additional instrumental show on Saturday on the Wookie Stage (separate from their Sunday headlining spot).  THEN Mike D will do an A Cappella DJ set on Saturday night from the inside of a Honey Bucket!
