usounds has been in existence for 1 year. in that time our legendary writers have scoured the globe for the sounds of our time. We cover popular music, even if no one has ever heard of it.

our writers:

Ric Befara: The name should say it all, but if you are still not acquainted with the work of this journalistic pop-star genius, you should be. After years in obscurity which were spent writing his book, "Complete Submersion" he re-emerged in late 1998 and signed a multi-year contract with usounds. Ric is a superstar without pretense, a man who has fully embraced (and indeed created) the concept of the international pop-star journalist. Ric is a legend in his own time, and a unique one, as he unabashedly strives to inform and enlarge his own myth. His new theories in the realm of undercover journalism have been trying due to his own fame, but have succeeded on levels that neither he nor usounds could have imagined. Befara@usounds.com archive

Lance F. Rockaway: Lance, born to a Southern man living in New York, spent most of his life in the streets of that great city, until the age of 23 when he started the first of several circumnavigations. Along the way he developed both an unquenchable desire for drink and drugs, and an uncanny ability to track down the latest micro-scene, mini-wave, and the motif-within-motif that makes up the vast mosaic of international underground music. lrock@usounds.com archive

Dr. Javier Luna is the nation's number one film critic in some surveys, now lost. His dedication to films that are both obscure and eminently watchable has distanced himself from other critics-- which makes him feel good because he hates all the other critics. moonunit@usounds.com archive

Shelly Petworth: The face that launched 1,000 ships. The marvel of all time. Hasn't written an article in 2 years, but emails us constantly.  spetworth@hotmail.com

DJ Henrik X: Oslo's finest is in hiding after pissing off "the wrong people." archive

Terrence, American Buddhist: has circled the earth several dozen times in search of something...his current and so far most lasting incarnation is as a Buddhist monk in a small monastary in Japan (the exact location of which cannot be disclosed while certain deals go through). tab@usounds.com archive

Phillppe Coulette, IV: The transglobal phenom. moet_moet@hotmail.com archive

Jan Fossbeck:German Tourist and radical communist, Jan is as proud of his poetic insights into American Pop culture as he is of his long, lustrous blonde hair, which sparkles in the sunlight like the tawny grain of a golden harvest. Robust and invigorating, Jan enjoys Mountain Sports, as well as riding his powerful black stallion, Donatello, on his ranch in Argentina. The horse is large and its mane is black as coal on a moonless night. Its pulsating muscles strain against Jan’s as they ride through the morning mist, linked by the twin spirits of speed and grace. jfsebastian@usounds.com

Horace French: Horace has worked a series of low-paid jobs since graduation from College
