At first I thought I had been given the wrong tape, because it sounded like My Bloody Valentine or m83, not hiphop. But then that familiar beat started and the woofers in my 82 Trans Am Recaro Edition started to throb… my instinct was that it was a mash-up, but soon it was apparent that the underground hiphop group Dälek has a distinct sound that is organic and not forced, with layers of complexity beyond the scope of most groups of any genre. Dalek knows how to rock the house with extreme volumes, layers and layers of guitars, big beats, and tight rhymes.
This is for when you want to crank the volume in your ‘am up to levels that if you weren’t so stoned and drunk would probably kill you. Recommended.
