And remember when he put out an album called Tragic Animal Stories under the name Barry Black that boasted tracks such as, “The Horrible Truth About Plankton,” “Chimps,” and “Tropical Fish Revival”? How about when he lived in a van and cranked out four Crooked Fingers albums? Jason sings quirky indie rock songs that have been meticulously crafted to jive with slides collected from estate sales, garage sales, and thrift stores that transform the lives of complete strangers into unique rock opuses.

Richard Buckner will release his 8th full-length album, Meadow on September 12th on Merge Records. According to Merge, the album was recorded in Buckner’s apartment, JD Foster’s hallway, and an old pencil factory. Stream a few tracks from the last album, Dents and Shells from 2004 here.
