New DJ Shadow Stream and Tour

DJ Shadow only has 28,693 friends on MySpace. (Which reminds me, Brian McKnight has not yet accepted my friend request, WTF Bri?) According to Shadow’s site, here is how the new album, The Outsider (to be released September 12th) will sound:

The Outsider is a record that will confound those who believed they had Shadow pigeonholed. Working with several different vocalists, and in styles spanning everything from hyphy, the Bay Area’s newest hip hop hybrid, to folk; from aggressive hardcore rock to left-field alternative dance music, the album is an almost schizophrenic collection from an artist to whom loving music and making music are just two sides of the same coin.”

Teddybears MP3’s

Stockholm band, Teddybears will release their US debut “Soft Machine” on September 12th on Big Beat Records. These guys were not always such an innocuous-sounding group; in the 90’s, most of the members started as a grindcore group called Skull. The new and non-grindcore Teddybear album instead melds garage punk beats, electro, dancehall, and krautrock with a variety of guest vocalists. Also, they are BFF with Neneh Cherry. Check out Cobrastyle with vocals by Mad Cobra and Punkrocker featuring vocals by Iggy Pop. Arctopohiles beware.

The first single “Mighty O” is now available for download, but you can preview this track now on Real Audio or Windows Media. And why not watch the movie trailer here while you’re at it? Because they’re keepin’ the dream alive against the backdrop of a 1930’s southern speakeasy. That’s why.

Human Television Look at Who You’re Talking To written by KFC’s Famous Bowl

So, earlier today I was like, fuck you, KFC. If I have to listen to the instrumental parts of Sweet Home Alabama one more time, I will blow my soggy papas fritas brains out all over the men’s room. Not wanting to feel suicidal and frustrated anymore, I ran out to pick up a pawned ipod mini and loaded that fucker with Human Television’s newest album Look at Who You’re Talking To. (Never mind that who happens to be talking to you right now is a steamy pile of mashed potatoes, corn and unidentifiable chicken pieces all covered in gravy and a three cheese blend that resembles diarrhea. But seriously, read some of the Famous Bowl blogs out there. Most will agree I taste a lot better than I look.)
