New Elf Power and Tour

Elf Power’s new album, Back to the Web will be released worldwide April 25th on Rykodisc. A few songs from the new album are featured on MySpace. Current line-up includes Eric Harris (ex Olivia Tremor Control) and Craig McQuiston (former Glands member) which should blow your mind right out your ass. Elf Power’s live show has been describes as, “better than floatin’ on a cloud of titties.” Seriously, we’re talking all T & A here – don’t miss these accordion packin’ mofos.

Neil Young: Heart of Gold on a Plane

In case you’ve been living in a van down by the river, you may not know about Neil Young’s live performance movie, Neil Young: Heart of Gold, directed by Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, Talking Head’s Stop Making Sense, Weekend at Bernie’s III). No DVD release date yet, so you can’t even begin to cut the excitement level with a machete. Whatever that means.

Bob Pollard to Open for Pearl Jam

Robert Pollard is calling his latest band The Ascended Masters. The Ascended Masters will be opening for Pearl Jam on the following dates:

June 23 – Pittsburgh, PA – Mellon Arena
June 24 – Cincinnati, OH – US Bank Arena

(Pearl Jam also has shows scheduled with Sonic Youth and My Morning Jacket.) Eddie has been rumored to be a huge GBV fan and the new PJ album could reflect that. Or not.

Who knew that Vedder has an affinity for avocados? There is also a bonus video track that features a hard core Mexican gang covering Eddie in guacamole. It’s kind of weird…

New Vines April 4th

Australian band The Vines met in high school while working at McDonald’s in the late 90’s. The McRib was still around back then, so a sweet time was had by all. The new Vines album, Vision Valley is set for release on April 4th, on Capitol Records. Toss some shrimp on the barbie, and listen to this sampler via their website:
