The Afters Stream

Who the hell are The Afters? Well, the abridged version of their story goes a little something like this: Josh Havens and Matt Fuqua were working together at a Starbucks in Mesquite, Texas while playing in various other bands. On slow nights, they would kick out a few acoustic jams for customers. Eventually they recruited two other Starbucks employees. This shit really worked out, enabling these guys to quit their coffee jobs. All the band members were okay with this because they found themselves constantly dehydrated and on the can a lot. (Only to find out later that being in a full-time band is pretty much the same thing.) The End.

Steam the album, I Wish We All Could Win here.

New Walkmen Track from A Hundred Miles Off

USOUNDS and The Walkmen have been pretty tight since Jan Fossbeck’s Walkman interview from back in the summer of 2003. Some of our staff approached the band after spotting them at the hipster-infested Linda’s Tavern after a Seattle show. Reminiscing with the band about the interview was great. Hamilton Leithauser said, “Wait…UWHAT?” I think he was just messin’ around though. Hammy is really funny and known to be somewhat of a trickster. Here’s a track called “Louisiana” from the album A Hundred Miles Off to be released on May 23rd on Record Collection.
